What is LexiQamus?
LexiQamus is an Ottoman Turkish linguistic analysis tool that aims to assist researchers in deciphering difficult-to-read words in Ottoman documents. It is a resource that aims to digitize all of the dictionaries published in the Ottoman and early Republican period with high academic precision and rigor.
LexiQamus;
1) word solves,
2) finds the correct letters even if they are misspelled by the user,
3) access the definitions of words in dictionaries,
4) it reveals meanings that are in the dictionaries but that the authors are not even aware of,
5) it leads to different spellings of a word that were unknown even to Ottoman intellectuals.
